calendar_penWe operate 10 minute appointment slots which can be made by contacting the surgery during our opening hours either by phone or in person. Appointments can also be booked online at any time.

You are free to see which ever doctor you wish but we do recommend that you try to see the same doctor for the follow up of any particular problem.

Telephone Consultations

The practice now offers telephone consultation appointments. You can contact the surgery by telephone or book online (please ask at reception for more information about online services). You will be given an appointment time and will be contacted within the hour of the time allocated. If you don't answer on the first attempt you will be called a second time. If you do not answer on the second attempt, it will be recorded as a DNA appointment. You will then need to rebook your appointment.

If the clinician feels your complaint requires you to be seen at a face to face appointment, an appointment will be booked for you. This appointment may not necessarily be with the clinician who has conducted the telephone consultation, however the clinician will inform you who the face to face appointment will be with.

If you are not able to make the appointment please let the practice know as soon as possible.

Telephone Access

If your enquiry is of a routine nature e.g. to check for test results then please try to ring after 10:00 when our phone lines are less busy.

Practice Nurses

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Appointments with the practice nurses are made in exactly the same way as for the doctors.

Hospital Referral

For NHS referrals your doctor will usually write to the consultant direct or book you via the E referrals system an appointment will be sent to you by the hospital.

For private referrals you will usually be told how to make the appointment yourself. The referral letter will be left in reception for you to collect and hand to the consultant.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. Even if a genuine problem prevents you from attending at the last minute please let us know, as we run a cancellation list and will always be able to fit someone else in.

How our appointment system works

We are aiming to provide a pre-booked routine doctors' appointment within two working days. Please note this may not be with the doctor of your choice.
